Gool Peran Lowen Everyone!

Today (March 5th)  is Saint Piran's Day here in Cornwall, and to celebrate, I have created this really beautiful Cornish Tartan colourway for you all. If you don't know, St Piran is the patron saint of tin miners.

St Piran was a priest in the west of Ireland. He fell out with the king and they chucked him off a cliff and they tied a millstone round his neck.  He managed to navigate a lump of granite with a hole in it across the Celtic sea and landed in Perranporth.

He then met a bunch of blokes with a fire and a load of black rocks all around. They lit the fire and they welcomed him.  As the fire got hotter the black stones got hotter and this white liquid starting to pour out of it. St Piran's noticed this and observing that chemistry he gave us smelting which allowed us to smelt tin. This is where the white cross on the black rock comes from. And also the Cornish Flag.

I had great fun creating this colourway for today, and I truly adore how it turned out, and I hope that you love it too!

Shown (and available) on my beautifully soft Sock base, a lovely blend of soft merino and nylon, this truly is beautiful yarn to work with.

Please note that colours may look different on various monitors, tablets and mobile phone screens

Hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry.
